‘Arunalu’ Charity Programme Goes to Kandegama School

Members of the ‘Arunalu’ Charity Programme, in response to a request made by the 23 Division of the Security Force Headquarters - East (SFHQ-E) recently organized a donation of school accessories to needy school children at Kandegama School in Aralaganwila.

‘Arunalu’ Charity Programme, chaired by Mr. Sanjeewa Siriwardena and troops of the 23 Division jointly organized the charity programme on Monday (20) at Kandegama School in Aralaganwila area.

The programme had many events conducted throughout the day, including a health programme, offered by the Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps and Dental Section at Polonnaruwa Hospital, and a cricket match with the participation of Nuwan Kulasekara and Sachithra Senanayake, well known international players of the Sri Lankan Cricket team.

The second session of the programme started with a musical programme, conducted by Mr. Nalin Perera and his band ‘Marians’.

The event drew to a close by presenting Rs.500,000/= worth stationery, laboratory equipment, musical items, sports items and many other equipment to the Home Science section in the school.

Finally, the principal extended his gratitude to all members of the ‘Arunalu’ Charity Programme and the Sri Lanka Army for making the event a success by coordinating it.
