Musically-talented 30 soldiers, selected out of more than 5000 competitors who vied to enter the ‘Wanni Real Star’ musical contest, organized by the Security Force Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W), showed their colours on Friday (15) during the finals, held at Anuradhapura ‘Abimansala’ wellness resort.
During the final segment, 8 competitors were selected to be nominated to the forthcoming Ranaviru Real Star programme in the future. 6 out of the 8 finalists received cash prizes during the final stage of the programme.
Mr Mahanama Wickramasinghe and Mr Ranjan Wickramanayake, both of them from the University of Aesthetics, Mr Chamikara Perera, musician in ‘Marimba’ musical band acted as judges in this contests.
Private N.A.N Priyasuriya of 9 Sri Lanka Artillery became the first and carried a cash prize of 1 lakh. Many senior officers and other ranks attended the occasion.
