The newly-constructed ‘Sangawasaya’ of the Sri Bodhirukkaramaya Temple, Mailankarachchi was declared open by Major General N.J Walgama, Commander, Security Force Headquarters-East (SFHQ-E) on Wednesday (10).
Mr S.A Somarathna, a philanthropist provided financial assistance to construct the ‘Sangawasaya’ and manpower for construction was provided by the troops of the 233 Brigade. Construction work was coordinated by Brigadier N. Hathurusinghe Commander, 233 Brigade with the co-operation of all ranks.
Commander 233 Brigade, Commanding Officers along with several military and civil officials made their presence at the ceremony. In the meantime, a tree planting was planted to mark this event at the temple premises.
