The famous Japanese ‘S5 Concept’ introduced to all Divisions, Brigades, Squadrons and formations of the Security Force Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W), worked effectively and awarded laurels to the soldiers who contributed to its implementation.
Introduced on a suggestion, made by Major General Boniface Perera, Commander, SFHQ-W, all officers and other ranks in formations entered into a competition that would select the best group, following the ‘S5 Concept’ as directed by the SFHQ-W.
The 561 Brigade of the SFHQ-W after completing all requirements won the first place receiving a cash prize of Rs 50,000 plus symbolic colours. 5 Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (SLEME) of the 310 Composite Squadron, serving the SFHQ-W, carried away the 1st prize (Rs 50,000) for the Best Unit.
‘S5 Concept’ prize awarding ceremony at the SFHQ-W auditorium on Friday (25), got underway on a grand scale with the participation of a galaxy of popular artistes, like Suresh Gamage, Lahiru Perera, Gayani Madushani who showed their artistic talents.
Dancing and music dominated the evening, graced by Major General Boniface Perera, Commander, SFHQ-W as the Chief Guest.
