'Poson' Marked with Free Meals &;amp; Meritorious Acts

Free offer of foods, ‘Dansela’, Releasing of Cattles from Slaughter Houses and a ‘Bodhi Puja’ ceremony, marked the importance of the Poson Full Moon Poya day in areas served by the Security Force Headquarters East (SFHQ-E).

All the Brigades of the 22 Division conducted ‘Dansel’ programmes in Trincomalee area on Poson day and 23 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) of the  242 Brigade of 24 Division gave away cool drinks to pedestrians at Pothuvil area on Poya day.

 

8 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) troops under 232 Brigade of the 23 Division in the meantime released two cattle who were to be slaughtered in Iralakkulam Grama Seva Division on the day prior to Poson.

In the meantime, 11 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) of the 242 Brigade under the 24 Division organized ‘Boodhi Puja’ ceremony at Shailathalaramaya in Neeththa Grama Seva Division to mark the Poson full moon Poya day.
