Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya en route to Kilinochchi, for another assignment made a surprise visit Thursday (7) afternoon to Abimansala, the Wellness Resort under progress at Anuradhapura.
Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya, the architect of the 'Abimansala' project saw for himself how the work was nearing completion at the site where permanently disable War Heroes are to be housed for rest and recreation.
Speaking to some Media men on the occasion, the Commander opined that the 'Abimansala' will be declared open shortly since 70% of its work has now been concluded. He also said that similar centres will be established in several other provinces after the Anuradhapura one is opened.
