The ‘Abimansala-3’ (Wellness Resort) under construction at Pangolla, Kurunegala for the benefit of dependent War Heroes of the North Western Province, is to be handed over to the Army within a few weeks.
A progress review meeting that took place this morning (6), headed by the visiting Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake at the construction site, revealed that the work, related to main constructions, is almost complete and set to be opened, having given final touches.
The meeting, attended by Director Rehabilitation, main architect, engineers, technical advisors, members of the Sri Lanka Engineers (SLE) and Engineer Service Regiment (ESR), medical professionals, different consultants, local authorities and other relevant sections, explored possibilities of further improving the quality using latest technological innovations.

Lieutenant General Ratnayake wanted the entire complex with villas and cottages be furnished with the best quality furniture, the meeting was told.
‘Abimansala-3’ expects to house about 50-55 dependent War Heroes of the North Western Province once the project, is complete with facilities, made available for their next of kin on visiting basis.
Several senior officers, including the Seva Vanitha Army Branch, responsible for collection of funds via ‘Brave Hearts’ project, were associated with the Commander’s progress finding tour to Pangolla.
