'Abimansala' Dependent War Hero to Tie Wedding Knots; First Invitation Given to SVAB President

The wellness resort, ‘Abimansala’ for dependent War Heroes at Anuradhapura, the brainchild of the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya, is to ring wedding bells shortly for the first time in its short life-span when the War Hero Private C.K Kulathilaka, was to wed after he had met his fiancée while he was earlier under rehabilitation at Ragama Ranaviru Sevana.

His prospective bride, Ms Suvini of Gane Road, Ragama fell in love with this totally blind Private Kulathilaka when the former, in the company of another group visited War Heroes under rehabilitation at Ragama Ranaviru Sevana sometime back for distribution of some gift parcels.

As time went on, their romance began to blossom and received blessings of parents and adults of both sides, although the War Hero had to be brought to Anuradhapura for better medical care, rehabilitation and facilities.

However, the Abimansala authorities in coordination with the Seva Vanitha Army Branch (SVAB), responsible for the smooth conduct of affairs, have now finally decided to hold the wedding at the Abimansala itself on 25 March 2012, adding a historical chapter to the concept of ‘caring and sharing’ of disable War Heroes for the rest of their lives.

On Friday (2), the prospective bridegroom with his wedding invitation in hand, called on at the SVAB Headquarters and ensured the delivery of the first invitation card to Mrs Manjulika Jayasuriya, President, SVAB, requesting her to be a chief witness when he ties wedding knots at his abode, ‘Abimansala’ in three weeks.

Mrs Jayasuriya in return showing her motherly care promised her presence at the memorable event of his life, together with SVAB members and staff.
