THE CEREMONY to open the newly constructed Thandikulama Railway Station under “Uthuru Mithuru” programme after renovating Colombo-Jaffna Railway line was held on Saturday (6) in Thandikulama.
The ceremony was presided over by Mr. Basil Rajapaksa MP and Senior Adviser to President. Ministers Dallas Alahapperuma, Susantha Punchi Nilame, Douglas Devananda and Vinayagamoorthi Muralidaran along with the Wanni Security Forces Commander Major General Jagath Jayasuriya, Divisional Commander 56 Division Major General HCP Gunathilaka and many others attended the ceremony.
In addition, the foundation stone was laid for construction of a new Railway Station at Omanthai by Transport Minister Dallas Alahapperuma the same day, afternoon. A large crowd also witnessed those events.
