  • New Commander Hosted at SLLI Regimental Headquarters

    Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) troops of the Army in conforming with military traditions presented a Guard Turnout plus a Guard of Honour to their Colonel of the Regiment Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake, the new Commander of the Army on Friday (9) at SLLI Regimental Headquarters, Panagoda.On his arrival at the premises, a Guard Turnout greeted him after he was welcomed by Major General K. A. D. A Karunasekara.
  • New Volunteer Force Commandant Assumes Office


    The newly-appointed Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) Major General S.A.P.P. Samarasinghe assumed duties on Monday (12) at his office at SLAVF Headquarters, Kosgama. Major General Samarasinghe at the entrance to the premises reviewed a Guard Turn Out plus a Guard of Honour, presented by SLAVF troops.

  • First Foreign Diplomat Calls On New Commander of the Army

    Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, Mr Wu Jianghao Tuesday (13) morning paid a courtesy call on the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake at the latter’s office at Army Headquarters. Sri Lanka-based Mr Wu Jianghao is the first foreign diplomat to have called on the Commander upon his assumption of office on August 1, 2013.
