The military funeral of late General Deshamanya J. E. D Perera, former Commander of the Army takes place on Wednesday (14) with full military honours at Colombo General Cemetery at 4.30 p.m. Here follows the formal Special Part I Order, issued by the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General R.M.D Ratnayake.

Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, Mr Wu Jianghao Tuesday (13) morning paid a courtesy call on the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake at the latter’s office at Army Headquarters. Sri Lanka-based Mr Wu Jianghao is the first foreign diplomat to have called on the Commander upon his assumption of office on August 1, 2013.
Major General A. W. J. Crishanthe De Silva, the newly-appointed Chief of Staff of the Army took office Thursday (15) morning during a simple ceremony at his office in the Army Headquarters. Members of the Maha Sangha, headed by Ven.
