On the directions of Brigadier Aruna Wanniarachchi, General Officer Commanding, 22 Division, more than 15,000 people of Sinhala, Tamil and Muslim ethnicities were treated to meals. 
Inmates at the newly inaugurated ‘Abimansala 2’ at Kamburupitiya were taken on a picnic to Kandy area for two days (June 18-19), following arrangements, made by Seva Vanitha Army Branch (SVAB) on the instructions of Mrs Manjulika Jayasuriya, President SVAB. Organized by ‘Abimansala 2’ Commandant, those inmates, aided by staff members working there visited Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, Sri Dalada Maligawa, Peradeniya Botanical Garden and a few other places of interest.
