  • 'Yoga' Course No 4 Concludes at Kilinochchi


    The Fourth 'Yoga' Course of the Security Force Headquarters-Kilinochchi(SFHQ-KLN) concluded successfully on Friday (17) at the Advanced Infantry Platoon Training (AIPT) School, Bharathipuram. The course commenced on 12 June with the aim of enhancing discipline, mental and physical strength of military personnel.

    Captain Prakash Gopalan, Defence Attaché for High Commission of India paid a courtesy call on Major General P.U.S Vithanage, Commander, Security Force Headquarters – Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) on Friday (17) at the SFHQ-MLT premises after his visit to the Wanni to meet the Wanni Commander on Thursday (16).
  • Fifth Computer Course at SFHQ-West Ends


    The fifth  phase of the Security Force Headquarters - West (SFHQ-West)- organized Computer Course with the motive of further expanding knowledge on Information Technology (IT) among troops serving the SFHQ-West, reached its successful completion on Friday (17) at the SFHQ-West library premises.
  • 'Foxhill Green' to Launch Reforestation in Diyatalawa Mountain Range


    The popular mountain range, ‘Nariya Kanda’ alias ‘Foxhill’ that surrounds the Diyatalawa garrison city in the hill country is to be turned more greener with initiatives, taken by the troops serving the Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ-C). The iconic mountain valley, famous for the annual ‘Foxhill Supercross’, the premier motocross event in Sri Lanka as well as for various other public events, continues to be polluted as hundreds of people and sightseers are used to visit this area.....
  • Army Woman Rugby Team Wins Championship


    The finals of the women’s seven-a-side Inter Club Rugby Championship tournament held at Havelock Grounds on Sunday (19) gave a stunning win to the Army Woman Rugby players. Air Force Commander, Air Marshal Gagan Bulathsinhala watched the finals as the Chief Guest. Sri Lanka Army Women’s Rugby team secured the championship and Sri Lanka Navy Women’s Rugby team ended as runners up. The final score stood 22-10.
     
  • Poland's Defence Attaché Calls on SL Army Chief

     


    Colonel SÅ‚awomir KoÅ‚tun, Defence Attaché for India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka at the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in New Delhi paid a courtesy call on the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva at the Army Headquarters Tuesday (21) evening.

  • Defence Secretary Makes His First Formal Visit to the North

     Secretary to the Ministry of Defence Mr. B.M.U.D Basnayake who assumed duties after HE the President Maithripala Sirisena was voted to power, undertook his first formal visit to the North during the weekend (July 18 - 19), together with tri-service Commanders. The itinerary commenced with his arrival at the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J).....

  • 23 Division Silver Jubilee Marked


    23 Division under the Security Force Headquarters-East (SFHQ-E) conducted a blood donation campaign to celebrate its Silver Jubilee (25th Anniversary) on Monday (20) at the 23 Division Headquarters, Punani. The blood donation campaign was organized on a request made by the Teaching Hospital, Batticaloa since the hospital.......
     
  • Initial Military Police Investigations Find Those Soldiers Not Involved in Any Criminal Act


    Preliminary investigations of the Sri Lanka Military Police into Monday (20) night’s arrest of civil-clad three Army soldiers with a weapon in Mirihana area while travelling in a white van, have confirmed that neither those soldiers, nor the vehicle in question, was involved in any criminal act whatsoever, but necessary legal action would be instituted against breach of military law, if any upon completion of Military Police investigations, Military Spokesman, Brigadier K.J Jayaweera said.
  • GR Wins Army Para Basketball Championship


    The finals of the Army Inter Regiment Para Basketball Tournament was held at the Regimental Headquarters, Sri Lanka Signal Corps (SLSC) Basketball Grounds in Panagoda on Wednesday (22) evening. Major General Renuka Rowel, Colonel Commandant, SLSC graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. A total of 5 para basketball teams vied for the Championship.
