  • Children in Orphanage Receive Oral Health Attention


    Inmates at Ambakaman children’s orphanage, situated in the 651 Brigade area under 65 Division of the Security Forces Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) received medical attention for their teeth and oral health during a clinic organized by the Army. The clinic on Monday (10) saw that extractions and refilling of affected teeth of those orphans were carried out by dentists.

    President Mahinda Rajapaksa, jubilant over the achievement of Sergeant Pradeep Sanjaya, Sri Lanka’s Bronze Medalist in London Paralympic Games - 2012, during an  audience at Temple Trees Thursday (13) morning, extended his best wishes to the medalist by offering him one more promotion in rank plus cash and land gifts.   • Renovated Residential Quarters Opened

    The newly-renovated residential quarters of other ranks serving the 121 Brigade Headquarters in Galle, was formally handed over to them during a brief ceremony on Wednesday (12). Troops through their patronage and labour renovated the old building at a cost of Rs 2.5 million after laboring hard since a proper residential place remained a long-felt need of the Headquarters.
  • Army Cricketers Among CEAT Award Recipients


    Several Sri Lanka Army teams and cricketers during the recent annual CEAT award ceremony, organized by Sri Lanka Cricket at Waters Edge, Battaramulla received accolades. The Army team, who became the runners-up in the under 23 cricket tournament (category II), was awarded a trophy during the ceremony. Captain of the team Private D.K.R.C Jayasinghe (6 Sri Lanka Artillery) received the trophy on behalf of the team.

    MAS Holdings at the request of the Security Forces Headquarters- Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) recently conducted a sewing workshop for young maids in Mallavi area. At the end of the 21 day course, all the trainees were given sewing machines, cloths and financial grants to the value of Rs 3 lakhs.
