    The year’s flagship project of the Army, ‘Defence Seminar - 2014,’ that articulates diverse challenges, faced by the country in her forward march to prosperity, inaugurates its sessions Monday (18) morning at Colombo Galadari Hotel, together with a host of foreign and local delegates.

    Maldives’ Chief of Defence Force, Major General Ahmed Shiyam ndc psc of National Defence Force was one among top military delegates who arrived in Sri Lanka to attend the Defence Seminar - 2014 beginning on Monday (18). The visiting Chief of Defence Force after attending Defence Seminar sessions is expected to call on Commander of the Army, Commander of the Air Force and top senior officers after he graces ‘Para Games  - 2014’ on August 20 at Sugathadasa Stadium.

Peiris, Minister of External Affairs who graced the inaugural sessions of the Defence Seminar - 2014 this morning (18) at Colombo Galadari Hotel as the Chief Guest, in his presentation to the forum on ‘Defining the Nation’s Success: a Critical Examination of the ascension of Sri Lanka,’ queried the wisdom of ill-treatment towards Sri Lanka by some foreign powers while exerting relentless pressure on her forward-march.
