  • Troops Attend to Road Repairs in Pudumatalan

     
    14 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR), troops serving the 681 Brigade of 68 Division repaired the road from Kokavil Junction to Pudumatalan junction, on the directions of the Commander, Security Force Headquarters Mullaitivu, recently. Officers and soldiers of VIR participated in the project to conduct these road repairs with their own tractors and equipment.

    A section of lady officers and other ranks of Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps (SLAWC) observed ‘Sil’ and followed a meditating programme at Kalyani Dharmashramaya, Colombo 7 on Monday (11). With the objective of enhancing spiritual development among SLAWC members this programme was organized.
     
  • SFHQ-C Troops Douse Spreading Bush Fires


    Responding to the need of immediate action, troops of the 122 Brigade under the 12 Division of the Security Force Headquarters Central (SFHQ-C) rushed recently to Ihala Kitul Ella, Bandarawela area and doused the bush fire that was fast spreading, due to prevailing dry weather. A contingent of 25 Army personnel of Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (SLEME), along with water engines, hurried to the scene and commenced work to bring the situation under control with the support of some volunteers in the area.
  • More Humanitarian Projects Launched in the East


    Troops of all Divisions and Brigades under the Security Force Headquarters East (SFHQ-E) continue their humanitarian community projects in the past week on the directions of Major General Lal Perera, Commander, SFHQ-E. On Saturday (9) more than 100 soldiers, including officers, serving the 231 Brigade at Kallady under the 23 Division donated blood for use of patients under treatment in Batticaloa and other peripheral hospitals at the request of  Hospital authorities.
