  • Blood Donation Campaign Organized by Pvt Company Supported

     
    A blood donation campaign was organized by the ‘Best Life International (Pvt) Ltd’, Panadura together with the troops of the Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ – C) at the Kahagolla, Aaranya Senasanaya Viharaya on Saturday (25). Troops of the SFHQ-C gave their assistance to make the event a success. This was inaugurated following guidelines given by Major General Sumedha Perera, Commander, SFHQ-C, in response to a request of health Authority.
     
  • Volleyball Court Inaugurated at the 12 Division

     
    The volleyball court, built at the 12 Division Headquarters in Hambantota under the Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ - C) saw its inaugural opening on Monday (16) during a ceremony, headed by Brigadier W.A.N.M Weerasinghe, General Officer Commanding, 12 Division. This was opened to coincide with the 4th anniversary of the 12 Division. Construction of the volleyball court was enthusiastically supported by the troops of the 12 Division.

    Following the approval of the Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces and the Minister of Defence, HE the President, the Commander of the Army on the directions of the Ministry of Defence, has instructed the Adjutant General’s Branch of the Army to offer one more round of general amnesty (April 2 - 16, 2015) to all Army absentees after implementing a more practical programme to delist and discharge them from service under four categories, effective from April 2, 2015.

    Following the approval of the Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces and the Minister of Defence, HE the President, the Commander of the Army on the directions of the Ministry of Defence, has offered a general amnesty period for Army absentees, enabling them to receive their legal discharge from the Army within a day or two.
