  • Jaffna Headquarters Supports Conduct of O/L Seminars


    Security Forces Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J) has been providing its maximum support for conduct of educational programmes in the peninsula, including seminars, extra classes, lectures, workshops, etc for the benefit of student community. Initiating another helping project for students, ready to sit the GCE O/L examination in early December, the 51 Division on 12 & 14 October organized seminars at Vaddukkoddai Jaffna College.....

  • 55 Div Organized Clinics Treat More Than 300 Civilians

    More than 300 males, females and children in Vettalakerni area in the 55 Division, Jaffna, sought medical assistance from an Army organized mobile clinic for eye ailments and physical illness at Vettalakerni Parameshwari Maha Vidyalaya on Sunday (14). Troops of the 19 Sri Lanka National Guard serving 553 Brigade Headquarters under 55 Division, took the initiatives in this connection on the directions.....

  • Commander in Male Calls on Maldivian President, Defence Minister & Chief of Defence Force

     
    Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya is currently in Maldives on a five-day goodwill tour at the invitation of Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF). Wednesday’s (17) commencement of Sri Lankan Army Chief’s formal itinerary in Male, the capital of this archipelago-nation, which is also traditionally called, the King’s Island, would perhaps go down in the annals of Army history as the first Sri Lankan Army Commander to have had a formal  audience with the Head of a State in a foreign land.

  • Mannar Service Station for Army Vehicles Opened


    One more new vehicle Service Station, set up at Mannar by Directorate of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (DEME) of the Army, as part of its Service Station establishment project, directed by the Commander of the Army, was opened on Tuesday (16) by Major General Boniface Perera, Commander, Security Forces Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W) at the invitation of Brigadier M.A.M Dias, General Officer Commanding, 54 Division.


  • Tamil Proficiency Course Graduates Get Their Certificates


    A total of 104 officers and 1573 other ranks, who followed Tamil language proficiency course under 2nd phase and basic intelligent operative course under 4th phase at Bharatipuram Advanced Infantry Training School at Kilinochchi.   • Nearly 1000 Candidates Attend 52 Division-Organized GCE O/L Seminars


    A series of seminars for G.C.E. (O/L) candidates, organized by the 52 Division area as a helping hand to them, commenced on Monday (15) at Point Pedro Methodist Girls’ High School auditorium. About 500 students from 10 schools in Vadamaratchi North took part in the seminar. Past lessons were revised and target questions in Science and Mathematics papers were discussed during the sessions.
