General Hamilton Wanasinghe (Retd) VSV USP ndc, a former Commander of the Army, passed away on 13 June 2025 after a brief illness at the Army Hospital, Narahenpita. He was 91 years old at the time of his demise.
The mortal remains of the late Senior Officer will repose at No. 488/1, Madugahawatte, Kalukodayawa, Malwana, from the evening of 13 June 2025 onwards for final respects.
His funeral, with full military honours, will take place at the new crematorium, General Cemetery in Borella on 15 June 2025 at 5.30 p.m.
