Responding to a request made by the Disaster Management Centre, troops under the 11 Infantry Division, promptly engaged in firefighting operations to control a sudden fire that broke out at the Shakthi Firecracker Factory within the Pallekele Industrial Zone on 5 November 2025.

A sudden fire broke out at a grocery shop in Talawakelle on 09 November 2025.

Three suspects have been arrested with a stock of Wallapatta valued at approximately Rs. 8 million during a special joint operation conducted in Kopiwatta area.

A sudden fire broke out at an electrical equipment shop located within a building owned by the Ambalangoda Pradeshiya Sabha was successfully brought under control on 09 November 2025 through the prompt response of 573 Infantry Brigade troops operating under the 61 Infantry Division and Security Forces (West).The fire, which started had spread to 12 nearby shops.

Swift and precise actions based on credible information provided by the Sri Lanka Army Intelligence has led to two major joint operations resulting in the seizure of heroin and wallapatta (Gyrinops walla), as well as the arrest of several suspects involved in illegal trafficking activities. The operations were conducted on 6 and 8 November 2025 in the Southern Province.

Brigadier M.L.D.S. Molligoda USP psc assumed duties as the 48th Commandant of the Infantry Training Centre (ITC), Minneriya, on 31 October 2025 during a brief ceremony.
