A sudden fire broke out at an electrical equipment shop located within a building owned by the Ambalangoda Pradeshiya Sabha was successfully brought under control on 09 November 2025 through the prompt response of 573 Infantry Brigade troops operating under the 61 Infantry Division and Security Forces (West).The fire, which started had spread to 12 nearby shops.
Under the guidance of the 573 Infantry Brigade, troops from the 20 Sri Lanka Light Infantry, 2 (V) the Gemunu Watch and the 573 Infantry Brigade worked alongside the DMC – Galle, Fire Brigade- Galle, Sri Lanka Navy Fire Unit, Ambalangoda Urban Council, Police and STF to extinguish the fire and prevent further damage.
