Upon the instructions of Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, the Commander of the Army, a Christmas celebration programme was successfully conducted on 23 December 2025 at Abimansala 3 Wellness Resort.

The Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (SLEME) continue to ensure the operational readiness of the Army by maintaining and innovating biomedical equipment across the service.

Troops of the Biomedical Independent Workshop carried out major repairs on biomedical equipment using spare parts worth approximately Rs. 1.5 million, compared to local estimates of nearly Rs. 10 million. The troops’ voluntary and self-motivated efforts, highlighting exceptional professional competence, resulted in substantial public fund savings amid the country’s economic challenges.

Major General P.S. Subath Sanjeewa RSP nps psc assumed duties as the 16th Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps on 18 December 2025 at the SLAMC Regimental Centre.

Upon his arrival, he was accorded a guard turnout and a guard of honour.

Addressing all ranks, he highlighted the importance of collective commitment and cooperation in achieving the corps’ goals.

The day concluded with refreshments with the participation of all Ranks.

Brigadier R.G.L.K. Weerakoon RWP RSP assumed duties as the Director Veterans’ Affairs and Rehabilitation of the Sri Lanka Army on 17 December 2025, during a simple ceremony held at the Army Headquarters.

Based on information received by the Military Intelligence Unit, two separate raids were conducted on 17 December 2025 in coordination with law enforcement agencies, leading to significant seizures and arrests.

Major General W.B.M.K.G.K. Weerasekara WWV RWP RSP USP AUSWC psc assumed office as the 16th Colonel of the Regiment of the Special Forces (SF) on 15 December 2025 at the Regimental Centre of SF.

Major General K.M.G. Bandaranayake USP ndc psc assumed duties as the 13th Chief Signal Officer of the Sri Lanka Army during a simple ceremony at Army Headquarters on 16 December 2025.

Major General K.A.W.N.H. Bandaranayake USP, the Commander, Security Forces (Central), commended the exemplary service rendered by troops of Divisions, Brigades and Units under Security Forces Headquarters (Central), who were promptly mobilised to carry out disaster relief operations following the Ditwa Cyclone. The commendation was made during an event held at the auditorium of Security Forces Headquarters (Central), on 17 December 2025.

Brigadier D.I.S Jayasinghe ndc psc, assumed duties as the 12th Commandant of the Army School of Logistics on 15 December 2025, amidst religious observances.

Major General K.H.M.S. Wickramarathne RSP assumed duties as the 25th Master General Ordnance of the Sri Lanka Army on 12 December 2025 at the Army Headquarters, amidst religious observances.
