Security Force Headquarters (East) commemorated its 22nd Anniversary on 31 October 2025 at the Headquarters premises in Welikanda.
In connection with the Anniversary celebrations, a series of religious observances were conducted from 24 to 25 October 2025 at Somawathiya Maha Seya, St. Mary’s Church, Mamanga Hindu Kovil and Al Lakzha Mosque in Batticaloa to invoke blessings upon all personnel of Security Forces (East).
On the Anniversary day, Major General J.S.B.W. Pallekumbura RWP RSP ndu psc, Commander, Security Forces (East), was accorded a guard turnout and a guard of honour by the troops of the 2 (V) Gajaba Regiment.
Afterwards, he planted a mango sapling, posed for a group photograph and subsequently addressed the troops.
The day’s formalities concluded with an all-ranks tea, followed by an all-ranks lunch and an evening musical session.
