Brigadier D.C.J.W. Jayasekara (Retd) passed away on 01 November 2025 after a brief illness at the Army Base Hospital, Narahenpita. He was 60 years old at the time of his demise.

The military funeral of the late Colonel R.A.N.P. Ranaveera of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment took place at the General Cemetery, Kottawa, on 01 November 2025.

The troops of the 59 Infantry Division arranged a formal ceremony to bid farewell to the outgoing General Officer Commanding (GOC), Major General D.R.N Hettiarachchi RWP RSP USP, on 20 October 2025 at the 59 Infantry Division.

Major General M.W.S. Millagala RWP RSP USP Hdmc psc officially assumed duties as the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 59 Infantry Division on 21 October 2025 at the 59 Infantry Division.

Major General R.P.S. Prasad RWP RSP USP assumed duties as the 13th General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 14 Infantry Division amidst religious blessings and military formalities at the Division Headquarters on 18 October 2025.

Major General M.R. Razick RSP ndu assumed duties as the 36th General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 51 Infantry Division on 18 October 2025.

The 1 Corps commemorated its 4th Anniversary with a series of programmes at its Headquarters on 17 October 2025. Interfaith religious ceremonies were conducted on 15 and 16 October 2025 at Kilinochchi Lumbini Viharaya, St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church and Murukkandi Hindu Kovil.
