During his stay in Jaffna, Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, Commander of the Army called on the Head of Nallai Adheenam Sri La Sri Somasunthara Gnanasampantha Paramachariya Swamigal on Friday (20) at Jaffna Nallai Thirugnanasampanthar Adheenam.
The religious dignitary during the brief discussion with the visiting Army Chief exchanged views on general matters and expressed his pleasure over his new appointment, as the head of the organization. He also appreciated the roles of Jaffna Security Forces towards the community and invoked blessings on the visiting Commander of the Army performing Hindu rites and rituals. At the end of the interactive meeting, the Hindu spiritual leader symbolized his goodwill by awarding a special gift to the visiting Commander of the Army.
The Commander of the Army soon after his arrival at the premises offered a tray of fruits to the Adheenam Head as a token of his respect towards him. Major General Ruwan Wanigasooriya, Commander, Security Forces-Jaffna also took part in the meet with the religious dignitary.
