Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) recently selected their best battalions for the year 2014.
A 7- member board visited all 24 regular and volunteer SLLI units and inspected relevant areas including “G” matters, “A” matters, Logistic matters, Legal matters, accounts, audits and sports.
From the regular units, 26 SLLI was adjudged the best Battalion while 7 SLLI became the runners-up.
From the volunteer units, 5(V) SLLI was adjudged the best Battalion while 17(V) SLLI became the runners-up.
The awards for best battalions were given at the closing ceremony of the SLLI inter-battalion Athletic Meet-2015 on 30 July by Major General K.A.D.A. Karunasekara, Colonel of the Regiment, SLLI.
