The Aviation College of the Sri Lankan Airlines on Saturday (19) made a trip down to Vellamkulam area at Ganeshapuram in the general area of the Security Force Headquarters- Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) and donated a stock of readymade garments to the value of Rs 85,000/= for distribution among 50 needy children in schools.
Those 50 children, selected on the recommendations of school authorities under this programme received much-needed readymade clothes, school accessories and books from the donors of the Aviation College of the Sri Lankan Airlines, some of who were present at the Ganashapuram Community Hall for distribution at the request of the 651 Brigade Commander who coordinated the community project.
Principals, teachers and students along with parents were present at the venue to receive those gift packets.
Some of the recipients performed a few cultural events and entertained the gathering during the programme.
