Close Boxing Tussle Places Army Runners-up

Both Sri Lanka Army and Sri Lanka Air Force boxers bagged equal numbers of points in the recently-concluded ‘Defence Services Boxing Tournament,’ held at Katunayake Air Force Indoor Stadium.

Army boxers collected 4 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze medals in the final tally but Air Force boxers collecting 4 silvers, as against Army boxers, emerged final victors.

Championship thus went to the Air Force and the Army became the 1st runners-up in the final closely-contested tussle. Navy boxers became the 2nd runners-up with 2 gold, 3 silver and 5 bronze medals.

However, the tournament organized by Army Boxing Committee, saw following Army boxers did well in the event.
