571 Brigade Distributes Medicine &;amp; Reading Glasses

Hundreds of civilians living in Uttupulam, Malayalapuram, Bharathipuram, Vivekanandanagar, Ambalkulam, Udayanagar East and West under the 571 Brigade area in Kilinochchi, were recently offered medical consultations and assistance as a result of a special humanitarian programme, launched by the 571 Brigade where 25 (V) Gajaba Regiment (GR) troops are serving.

A medical camp organized, examined and treated about 300 civilians and provided them with 100 reading glasses, 100 pieces of school accessories to school children and 2 wheelchairs to disable civilians with the patronage the Brigade has received from the Pepiliyana Lions Club.

The full-day medical camp took place at Malayalapuram Kilinochchi Tamil Central Vidyalaya on 18 December.

Students of Malayalapuram Tamil Central Vidyalaya, along with teachers and parents were present to receive those gift parcels, inclusive of exercise books and stationery.

Colonel Nanda Hathurusinghe, Brigade Commander and several Lions of Pepiliyana Lions Club participated in the project.
