SVAB President Hands Over Another House to a War Hero

Another valiant disabled War Hero received a newly constructed complete house this morning (27) when President Seva Vanitha Army Branch (SVAB) Mrs. Manjulika Jayasuriya handed over the house to Corporal Ambagahapitiya T. B. of Sri Lanka Light Infantry.

The house built at a cost of Rs.1.4 million was built in a plot of land owned by the War Hero in Werapitiya, Theldeniya by the Engineer Service Regiment soldiers.

The doctors and staff of Castle Street Hospital lead by the Directress of the hospital Dr. Rani Fernando donated Rs.700,000/= for this worthy cause while Seva Vanitha Unit of Sri Lanka Electrical & Mechanical Engineers (SLEME) Regiment contributed the balance Rs.700,000/=. SLEME Seva Vanitha Unit coordinated the project.

Mrs. Manjulika Jayasuriya was accompanied by senior member of SVAB Mrs. Rani Jayathilake, President SLEME Seva Vanitha Unit Mrs. Lilani Wijethunge, Colonel Commandant SLEME Major General Lalith Wijethunge and many senior officers of the Army. Dr. Rani Fernando was also present at the occasion.
