New SF-E Commander Makes Formal Visit to 24 Div Headquarters

Major General Dharshana Hettiarachchi, Commander, Security Forces - East (SF-E) after he assumed office made the first formal visit to the 24 Division Headquarters at Ampara during November 07-08.

The SF-E Commander was warmly welcomed by Brigadier L.M Mudalige, General Officer Commanding, 24 Division on arrival before he was greeted to a Guard Turnout presented by 24 Division troops.

During his stay in the Headquarters, he planted a tree sapling at Headquarters premises.

After that the Commander addressed the troops and listened to the briefing presented by Formation Commanders under the 24 Division on the present reconciliation moves and the security situation in the area.

During the meetings that ensued, Major General Dharshana Hettiarachchi discussed with the Brigade Commanders and Battalion Commanders present on administrative aspects, operational needs and welfare measures and the basic requirements of the troops.

Senior officers, officers and other ranks attended the occasion.
