School Children Receive Sleeping Kits

Kelaniya Rotary Club in close cooperation with the Security Force Headquarters – West (SFHQ-West) distributed 4000 sleeping kits among children at Nikaweratiya and Maho Educational Sectors during July 11-15.

Kelaniya Rotary Club considering the need of those kits for school children in the age range of 6-12 years at Nikaweratiya and Maho Educational sectors gave away those kits in 5 earmarked centres of those two sectors.

A sleeping kit consists of a bed sheet, a pillow case, a pair of shoes with socks, two shorts, two shirts and a school bag with other stationeries such as pen & notebooks.

Troops of 26 Gajaba Regiment and 1 Sri Lanka National Guard assisted the programme while selecting and distributing those sleeping kits on the directions of the Commander Security Forces - West (SF-West) Major General Sudantha Ranasinghe. The programme was implemented under the supervision of the Commander, 14 Division, Brigadier P. J Gamage and Commander, 143 Brigade, Colonel L. S. P Perera.
