The recently-appointed Commandant at Ranaviru Apparels (RVAPL), Brigadier Namal Mahathuwakkara assumed duties on Monday (Dec 05) at the RVAPL) factory premises at Yakkala.
Brigadier Amila Wasage, Deputy Commandant, RVAPL welcomed him and invited him to take the Guard Turnout salute according to military traditions. Later, he placed his signature symbolically on an official document amidst religious blessings and marked the acceptance of his new responsibilities.
He received a briefing on the functional aspect of the RVAPL and spoke to a representative group of key appointment holders in the establishment. He was also invited to plant a Mango sapling inside the camp premises as a symbol of memory. He also did not forget to address all the troops working at Yakkala.
The newly-appointed Commandant Brigadier Namal Mahathuwakkara succeeds Brigadier Azad Izadeen.
