To coincide with the 23rd anniversary of the Ranaviru Apparels (RVAPL) at Yakkala, several religious programmes were launched with the participation of all employees during 9 - 10 December.

On Thursday (9), a Dhamma sermon, delivered by Ven Ududumbara Meththawansha Thero of Indigolle Vidyawansha Pirivena was attended by all staff members after a ‘Bodhi Pooja Pinkama’ inside the camp premises at Yakkala. The arrangement transferred merits to the fallen War Heroes and invoked blessings on differently able War Heroes working in the Ranaviru Apparels factory.

On the following day (10), an alms-giving (Heel Daana) was offered to the monks at Indigolle Vidyawansha Pirivena.

Similarly, the military segment of the events also kicked off as an anniversary feature, in which Brigadier Azad Izadeen, Commandant, Ranaviru Apparels, was saluted in a Guard Turnout when he arrived in the camp on the anniversary day. Brigadier Amila Wasage, Deputy Commandant and Factory Manager, Colonel Titus Jayakody, on his arrival welcomed him.

A troop address on the importance of the RVAPL anniversary, delivered by the Commandant thanked all physically-handicapped War Heroes for their hard work and high standards of the factory.
