Wounded War Heroes & Family Members of Fallen Ones Join Mental Healing Project “Udarai Oba”

The unfailing national conscience of the Nation for the memory of selfless sacrifices, made by War Heroes was revived at Panagoda when the ‘Arya Foundation’ staged its “Udarai Oba” programme at the Army gymnasium in Panagoda in front of permanently-injured War Heroes, family members of fallen War Heroes and a large gathering of All Ranks after arrangements to that effect were made by troops of the 1 Corps of Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps on Thursday (18).

Designed to enhance the mental well-being of the wounded and bereaved families, the project was attended by General Shantha Kottegoda (retd) former Commander of the Army, General Daya Rathnayake (retd), former Commander of the Army, Major General (retd) Upali Rajapaksha, Brigadier Nilantha Premarathna,Director Media, Brigadier T.N Majid, Director Psychological Operations, Professor Raj Somadeva, veteran actor Douglas Ransingha, Dr Samadi Rajapaksha, Dr Lalith Bandara, Mr Charith Kiriella, Miss Pushpa Ramyani Sozya, Mr Shamendra Wickramarachchi, musician Jagath Wickremasingha, Officers and Other Ranks.

The Commanding Officer 1 Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps Lieutenant Colonel Ravindra Meegamarachchi coordinated the conduct of this programme in close collaboration with the Arya Foundation in a move to enhance mental wellbeing, growth of positive thinking, promotion of environmental concerns among all the participants.
