Workshop to Further Educate Army Personnel Serving Harmony Centre Begins


Promotion of the good conduct, understanding of ethnic differences and effective communicative skills of the soldiers as one more project of the post-war era, is to be conducted across all Security Force Headquarters, following instructions, given by Mr Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Secretary to Ministry of Defence and Urban Development.

The first of its kind by way of an interactive workshop got underway at Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) on Tuesday (16) after a brief inaugural ceremony, headed by Major General Sudantha Ranasinghe, Commander, SFHQ-KLN.

The 10-day workshop, addressed by eminent scholars of the University of Colombo, including Dr Shantha Kumara Hettiarachchi, Dr Malkanthi Hettiarachchi and Ms Evanjalin Ekanayake, is being attended by 25 officers and other ranks who are serving the Harmony Centre at Kilinochchi.

Those lectures using interactive methods covered psycho-social skills and dimensions, communicative techniques, civil affairs, linguistic barriers, thinking patterns, traditions and values, etc.
