A workshop to introduce the Hand Book on Army Procurement Procedure, published by the Sri Lanka Army got underway recently on the directions of the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake and the Deputy Chief of Staff Major General Ajith Kariyakarawana under the supervision of the Director General Financial Management (DGFM) Major General W.R Palihakkara at the Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps (SLAGSC) Regimental Headquarters auditorium at Panagoda.
The opening address of this workshop was conducted by the DGFM and the programme was carried out by the General Staff Officer - 1 (GSO) at the Directorate of Internal Audits ( Dte of IA) Major P.A.S. N.R Perera.
The aim of the workshop was to impart the knowledge in the hand book and familiarize the officers involved with procurement procedures as highlighted in the government tender guidelines in 2006 and subsequent amendments. The feedback indicated that the programme was very educative and valuable to the participants.
A total number of 52 Senior Officers attended this workshop from following military establishments.
