A total of about 70 troops of the Security Force HQ-West (SFHQ-West) lent their assistance for conduct of the annual Esala Maha procession at Kotahena Sri Paramananda Purana Viharaya on Friday (15 Sep) after a request to this effect had been made by the incumbent monk to the Commander of the Army.
The Commander Security Forces-West (SF-West), Major General U.D Wijesekera RWP RSP USP rcds psc participated in this sacred event representing the Commander of the Army. Troops assisted the arrangements as requested by the incumbent monk and the Dayake Sabhawa.
Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks and a large crowd of spectators watched the colourful event.
