Major General Deepal Pussella, Commander, Security Forces-West (SF-West) visited the 1 Sri Lanka Army Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (1 SLEME) camp inside the Panagoda Army Cantonment on Tuesday (Feb 28).
The West Commander was warmly welcomed by Major D.M.C.M Weerakoon, Commanding Officer (CO), 1 SLEME and accorded a Guard Turnout at the main entrance before he received a comprehensive briefing from the CO, 1 SLEME and staff Officers on its role and tasks.
Afterwards, the Commander, SF-West, had a brief discussion with the officers of the Battalion and spoke to the troops underlining the importance of discipline and performance of entrusted duties with readiness. Other matters related to the Battalion administration were also taken up during the discussion.
During his stay there, he inspected the camp compound and interacted with the Officers and Other Ranks before he left the camp. Brigadier Nilantha Premarathne, Brigadier General Staff, SF-West and Brigadier Asela Amarasekara, Brigadier Admin and Quartering, SF-West, Officers and Other Ranks were also associated with the visit.
