Wanni Troops-Launched Three Medical Camps Treat More than 400 Civilians

Army-initiated three mobile medical camps that got underway during two days (29-30 April) at Vavuniya Cultural Hall, Bogaswewa Hospital and Kawantissapura, Weli Oya in the areas, served by members of the Security Forces under command to the SFHQ-Wanni treated more than 400 ailing civilians in those respective areas.

A team of three Medical Officers and nine nursing staff of the ‘Jayagrahanaya’ Foundation, headed by Dr. (Ms.) Anula Wijesundara at the request of Major General C. D Ranasinghe RWP RSP, Commander, Security Forces-Wanni carried out the project with the support of SFHQ-Wanni troops during both days.

Those medical clinics with cardiology and general physician sections provided free medicines, consultations and referral assistance to those civilians of low-income groups. In addition, the same foundation distributed dry ration packs and school accessories among 100 families during those medical clinics.

The community service project that was launched with the objective of assisting people affected due to current economic hardships and constraints was made a reality by the SFHQ-W on the instructions of the Commander of the Army.

During those respective clinics, the Wanni Commander and several Senior Officers visited the locations and spoke to the civilians, together with Dr. (Ms.) Anula Wijesundara.
