The Security Force Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W) extending its community services further succeeded in erecting one more house for a needy family in Pemaduwa in the Anuradhapura District and vesting it in the beneficiaries on Sunday (19) during a brief ceremony.
In response to the Army request, one Mrs Nilanthi Gunathilake, volunteered to sponsor the entire project. Major General Champaka Ranasinghe, Commander, Security Forces - West as the Chief Guest at the invitation of Major General Mohan Rathnayake, General Officer Commanding, 21 Division graced the inaugural warming ceremony of the new house built by the troops of the 5 (V) Sri Lanka Light Infantry.
The beneficiary, Mr S.M Janaka Senarath Bandara and his family, resident in 13th Mile Post, Bandaragama, Pemaduwa in the Anuradhapura District accordingly at the auspicious minute was delivered the keys for the new house by the day’s Chief Guest after unveiling a plaque.
The project that coincides with the Army Commander’s ‘Sri Lanka Army Way Forward Strategy 2020 - 2025’ is an extension of the SFHQ-W’s ongoing house construction project for deserving families in the Wanni region.
After the inauguration amid religious blessings, milk-pot boiling and other rituals followed. Health guidelines were followed during the simple arrangement.
