Adding further strength to the Security Force Headquarters - Wanni’s (SFHQ-W) community-oriented roles, one more new house built for a needy family in Asikulam, Vavuniya was vested in the family by Major General Champaka Ranasinghe, Commander, SF-W during a simple ceremony held at the venue on 14 January 2022.
After information regarding the living condition of the single parent, Mrs Mohanraj Maheswari was brought to the notice of the 562 Brigade by state officials in the area, the house construction began in earnest with the engineering and technical expertise of 17 (V) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment troops of the 562 Brigade under the 56 Division with the financial support, extended by Mr Mahendraraja Mayoorathan, Director Safety Credit (Pvt) Ltd and Safety Gun Care (Pvt) Ltd, Vavuniya.
The sponsor with his spouse, Mrs Mayoorathan attended the simple warming ceremony where Major General Champaka Ranasinghe as the Chief Guest warmed the new house for the widow and her children by cutting a ribbon.
The Commander 562 Bridge, Brigadier A.M.S Premawansa, Colonel General Staff, 56 Division Colonel Pradeep Karunanayake, Civil Affairs Officer, 56 Division Lieutenant Colonel W.K.A.S Priyanthalal, Civil Affairs Officer SFHQ-W, Lieutenant Colonel K.D.H.M.W.J.K Herath, Commanding Officer 17 (V) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, Major H.K Kumarasiri, Grama Niladhari, Development Officer, Samuddhi Officer of Asikulam GN Division Army Officers, Other Ranks, Police Officers and several invitees adhering to health protocols, took part in the inaugural warming ceremony at Asikulam.
