Wanni Troops to Construct One More New Home for a Needy Family

The foundation stone to construct one more house for a deprived family in Katukaliyawa, Navodhagama, one of the rural interior villages in Alayapaththuwa, in the Wanni region was laid on Thursday (26) by the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 21 Division, Major General Kumar Jayapathirane who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest on behalf of the Commander, Security Forces - Wanni.

Ms Madhushika Costa working at Teaching Hospital Anuradhapura at the request of the GOC of the 21 Division, Major General Kumar Jayapathirane promised to sponsor the project as a result of her personal acquaintances with the GOC.

The underprivileged family of Mrs Y.W Manora Kumari with her two children living in abject poverty with economic hardships has no permanent shelter. Construction of the house for Mrs Y.W Manora Kumari will be carried out by troops of the 5 Sri Lanka National Guard on the directions of the Commander, 212 Brigade, Colonel Anil Peiris.
