Major General W.P.A.D.W Nanayakkara RSP VSV USP ndu, Commander, Security Forces - Wanni, paid his maiden visit to the 56 Infantry Division, located at Kokeliya, Vavuniya and its under-command Brigades and Battalions on Wednesday (09 Aug).
Major General H.G.P.M Kariyawasam RSP ndc psc IG, General Officer Commanding (GOC), 56 Infantry Division received him after he was greeted in a Guard Turnout at the entrance. Commencing the day's proceedings, he addressed the troops, planted a sapling in the premises before receiving a comprehensive briefing, done by the GOC on the role and tasks of the Division.
Afterwards, he interacted with the troops during an All Rank tea arrangement and penned down some complimentary remarks before his departure.
