Troops of the Sri Lanka Army Vocational Trade School at Kuttigala immediately came forward to provide maximum support to extinguish a fire that erupted in a line of about 20 shops, situated around the main bus stand at Embilipitiya on Thursday (11).
28 Army personnel, including Officers and Other Ranks, together with the Sevanagala Fire Rescue Unit and the Police after about an hour of fighting against spreading fire completely doused it.
