The visiting Land Force Commander, General Eid Bin Awad Al Shalwari of Saudi Arabia on the sidelines of attending the ongoing “Defence Seminar” at Colombo, paid a courtesy call on the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva at the Army Headquarters in Colombo on Tuesday (2).
He was accorded a Guard of Honour by Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) troops and warmly received by Major General Jagath Dias, Chief of Staff on arrival at the AHQ.
The visiting Saudi Land Force Commander was afterwards warmly received by the Commander at the Commander’s Secretariat at the entrance and introduced to the Principal Staff Officers (PSOs).
They held cordial discussions on matters of mutual interest and bilateral importance. Mementos were also exchanged to mark the occasion, symbolizing the goodwill of the two friendly forces.
