VIR Conducts Successful Officers' Training Day

Under the guidance of the Commander, Security Forces - Central and Colonel of the Regiment of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR), Major General S.R.B Aluvihare RWP RSP ndu psc, the Officers’ Training Day for the first quarter of the year 2024 was successfully conducted at the VIR Regimental Centre on 14 March 2024.

The day's activities began with a morning physical training session at the regimental playground, followed by drill training and informative lecture sessions as per the schedule. The highlight of the day was the Diners Club session held at “The Salute” Multifunctional Hall, Boyagane. Engineer Chinthaka Balasooriya, a Chartered Engineer from the Department of Agriculture, served as the guest speaker and delivered an engaging lecture on the topic “Agro-Defense Strategies: Safeguarding Food Security in Times of Conflict.” The Officers actively participated in discussions, sharing their insights and engaging in an interactive session with the guest speaker.

The Centre Commandant, Senior Officers and Officers participated in the training day programme.
