Vijayabahu Motocross - 2024 Held in a Grand Scale

The Vijayabahu Motocross - 2024, organised by the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) in collaboration with Sri Lanka Racing Riders’ Association, was held on 31 March 2024 at Boyagane, Kurunegala with the presence of Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, the Commander of the Army as the chief guest together with Mrs. Janaki Liyanage, the President of Army Seva Vanitha Unit.

The Army Chief was warmly welcomed by Major General S.R.B. Aluvihare RWP RSP ndu psc, the Colonel of the Regiment of VIR. During the event, more than 80 individuals, including Tri-services personnel, civilians and young riders, participated in 14 racing events amidst cheers and applause from the crowd.

For the first time, two All-terrain Vehicle (ATV) events were also arranged in the Motocross. Towards the end, Senior Officers together with invitees took part in the awarding ceremony.

A distinguished gathering inclusive of Major General W.H.K.S. Peiris RWP RSP VSV USP ndu, Chief of Staff, Major General S.P.A.I.M.B. Samarakoon Hdmc Lsc, Deputy Chief of Staff, Major General M.K. Jayawardena RSP VSV USP ndu, Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force, Senior Officers, Officers and a large crowd of spectators witnessed the spectacular event.
