VFTS Professional Officers Awarded Appreciative Certificates

The Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF), Major General Channa Weerasuriya upon assumption of his duties made his first formal visit to the Volunteer Force Training School (VFTS) at Diyatalawa on the invitation of Colonel H.A Keerthinatha, the Commandant, VFTS during 21 - 22 February.

The day’s itinerary began after Colonel H.A Keerthinatha, Commandant, VFTS warmly received the visiting SLAVF Commandant on arrival where he was invited to review the Guard Turnout at the entrance to the VFTS premises.

In keeping with the day’s itinerary the Commandant, SLAVF participated in the closing ceremony of the ‘Direct Enlisted Professional Officer Cadets Course No - 11’ as the Chief Guest. Upon successful completion of the stipulated course module, certificates were awarded to the professional Officer Cadets by the day’s Chief Guest. He also witnessed a syndicate presentation produced by those Directly Enlisted set of professional Officers.

Afterwards, Colonel H.A Keerthinatha, Commandant, VFTS invited the Commandant SLAVF to undertake an inspection visit to the infrastructure development and progress of ongoing reforms of the training school soon after the awarding ceremony for professional Officers.

Major General Nihal Samarawickrama, the Deputy Commandant, SLAVF, Principal Staff Officer-HQ SLAVF, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated in the event.
