A special lunch was offered by 551 Infantry Brigade troops for 35 children and 10 adults, residing at Sri Paramananda Children's & Elders' Home in Vathiri, Karaveddy on Saturday (13 May) as part of their community service, to be coincident with true spirits of Vesak.
The event was organized by Brigadier S.J Kariyakarawana RWP RSP USP under the guidance of Major General M.K.U.P Gunarathna RSP ndu psc IG, the General Officer Commanding, 55 Infantry Division. The event was sponsored by the troops themeselves.
The Commanding Officers and troops of the 4 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment and the16 (V) Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiments joined the occasion and made adults and children happy by talking to them.
