Vakarai School Cricketers after Shramadana Join Cricket Encounter

In order to foster better relations, troops of the 233 Brigade, 7 Light Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery and 6 Gajaba Regiment organized a Shramadana campaign to clean the Vakarai Maha Vidyalaya premises and staged a donation of book parcels on 19 December 2021 after conduct of a friendly cricket match.

The friendly cricket tournament between Abans Finance Company team and Vakarai Maha Vidyalaya School Cricket team got underway in parallel to the Shramadana campaign and the donation of book packs as one of the civil-military cooperation project.

The Commander 233 Brigade, Colonel Wasantha Hewage gave guidelines for launch of those projects as the sponsors came forward to help those deserving children.

Troops of the 233 Brigade, 7 Sri Lanka Artillery & 6 Gajaba Regiment, Area Manager of the Abans Finance Company, Principal Teachers and Students at Vakarai Maha Vidyalaya and parents supported and participated in the events
